Summary

Once upon a time, there lived an older brother named "Umihiko" and a younger brother named "Yamahiko." Umihiko went to the sea every day to fish, while Yamahiko went hunting in the mountains. One day, Yamahiko said, "Brother, I want to try fishing. But why don't you come hunting in the mountains?" Umihiko reluctantly agreed, and the two went to their respective places.

Yamahiko went hunting but caught nothing, and Umihiko went fishing but didn't catch a single fish and ended up losing his fishing hook in the sea. "Brother, I've lost the fishing hook. I'm sorry," Yamahiko apologized, but Umihiko got angry. "What did you say? You lost the fishing hook!" Yamahiko made a fishing hook from his own sword, but Umihiko wouldn't forgive him.

As he sat crying on the beach, a kind old man came along. "What happened?" The old man listened to the situation and advised, "Take this boat to the island and wait for someone at the castle gate." Yamahiko rowed the boat and waited in front of the castle. There, he asked a girl carrying a water container for some water and handed her a necklace. This necklace caught the king's eye, and Yamahiko was invited to the castle.

A few days later, the king said, "I want to welcome you as my daughter's husband." Yamahiko got married and lived happily. However, one day, he remembered his brother and sighed, which worried his wife. "Are you troubled by something?" Yamahiko explained the situation, and his wife commanded the king to help find the fishing hook.

Finally, the fishing hook was found, and Yamahiko decided to return it to his brother. When they parted, his wife gave him two balls. "If you are treated badly by your brother, use this ball." Yamahiko headed to Umihiko's place and said, "Brother, I found the fishing hook," but Umihiko was dissatisfied. "You broke the fishing hook!"

Umihiko attacked his younger brother, and Yamahiko took out the blue ball and shouted, "Water, come forth!" and water began to overflow. "Help me, I was wrong!" Umihiko repented, and Yamahiko took out the yellow ball and said, "Water, stop!" and the water stopped.

After that, the two of them reconciled and lived happily.
