Summary
One day, Mito Komon (real name: Mito Mitsuaki) and his entourage were traveling. The weather was nice, and as they were having a pleasant conversation, they encountered a wounded man. Komon asked the man, "What happened to you?" The man replied weakly, "I was working at the Daikokuya, and I was attacked for knowing a secret." Soon after, the man took his last breath.
Excited, Komon instructed his companions, "Let’s investigate the place where this man worked and find out what’s going on." Daikokuya was the town's largest rice dealer, and Ogin and Hiyazaru each set out to gather information. Ogin disguised herself as a maid and overheard a conversation with the daikan, "You did bring the item, right? Daikokuya." This was followed by a scene where a box filled with gold coins was shown.
Meanwhile, Yakichi discovered a stash of illegal rice in Daikokuya’s warehouse. Komon had his companions organize the information and decided, “We must help the unfortunate people. Let’s punish the daikan and Daikokuya.”
Komon headed to the feudal lord and said, "Stop the excessive tax collection," but the lord defied him, claiming, "I’m not doing such things." Suddenly, the daikan shouted, "Everyone, these are villains who intend to kill the lord!" Samurai armed with swords rushed in. Komon commanded, "Suke-san, Kaku-san, teach them a lesson."
A fierce battle began, but Suke-san and Kaku-san displayed their exceptional skills. Komon also swung his staff to defeat enemies. "Suke-san, Kaku-san, that’s enough." Suke-san raised the crested tablet and declared, "Do you not see this emblem? Present here is Lord Mito Mitsuaki!"
The surrounding people were astonished, and even the feudal lord knelt. Yahachi brought the Daikokuya owner, saying, "This man has confessed." Komon blamed the daikan and exposed the misdeeds. "Your role is to support the feudal lord!" He further scolded the owner of Daikokuya.
The feudal lord, frightened, ordered his retainers, "Take these people to prison." Komon offered advice to the feudal lord, saying, "Your son will still need help; advise him to become a wise lord."
Thus, the matter was resolved, and Komon and his entourage continued their journey. "Well then, shall we set off again?" Komon said with a smile, and the journey began anew.
