Summary
Once upon a time, there was a strong giant man living in a certain place. The man was proud of his strength and had never lost in the village sumo tournaments. He wanted to meet a stronger man and wrestle with him.
At that time, he heard about a sumo tournament being held in Edo, so he headed to Edo to participate. When people saw the giant man sightseeing in Edo, they ran away into their houses.
"There's a monster! The monster is coming! Run!"
Confidently, the man sang loudly as he pulled out trees and kicked down the walls and fences of the streets, passing in front of a temple school.
Then, a boy came out of the temple school and said to the monster, "Hey, you! You're too loud! Walk quietly!"
"What a cheeky little brat!"
Saying that, he approached the child and tried to kick him. However, the boy quickly dodged, causing the man to stumble forward and fall. The boy grabbed the giant's leg, lifted him high into the air, and threw his massive body like a rock. The man lost consciousness after hitting the ground.
"What a strong child!"
The people watching cheered. After a while, the man regained consciousness but couldn't move as he had broken his back.
The next day, the man, who had been taken to the watchtower, spoke to the watchman about the boy. "I've never seen such a strong child before. I can no longer participate in the sumo tournament."
"It's surprising to hear that such a strong child exists in Edo."
The watchman put up signs around Edo saying that in the next sumo tournament, if there was a child with strength unmatched by any sumo wrestlers, they would be allowed to participate.
However, no child came forward to join, and the watchmen searched all over Edo.
"There are no such children around here," everyone answered when asked by the watchman.
Eventually, people believed that the young Buddha had come to punish the savage giant man.
