Summary

No Grass Grows in the Prosperous Land

Once upon a time, there was a village called "Prosperous Village." This village was a lively place where merchants gathered to buy and sell goods, attracting many visitors. However, in the center of the village, there was a large vacant lot where grass was growing. The people of Prosperous Village believed that "the presence of grass is an omen of something bad about to happen."

One day, a young man from the village named Takeshi decided to pull out the grass. He told the people around him, "If we pull out the grass, Prosperous Village will thrive even more!" Everyone cheered him on, shouting, "Let’s pull out the grass!" Takeshi prepared some tools for pulling out the grass and headed to the vacant lot with a few friends.

As they began working, the grass proved difficult to remove. Although Takeshi and his friends were having a great time, fatigue started to set in as time passed. Suddenly, a bird flew overhead and called out, "What are you doing?" This bird was the wise owl who lived in the village. Takeshi impulsively replied, "We're pulling out this grass to make Prosperous Village even more prosperous!"

The owl smiled and said, "The grass itself has no meaning. It is your attitude while working that will lead the village to prosperity. So, keep pulling out the grass joyfully." Takeshi was moved by the owl's words and shared them with his friends. They immersed themselves back into their work, laughing and enjoying each other’s company as they continued to pull out the grass. As a result, Prosperous Village became even more vibrant with Takeshi and his friends' enthusiasm and bright spirit.
