Summary
Making Pudding for the First Time
In a small village, there lived a young man named Takeru who loved to cook. He decided to invite his close friends over to his home and make a special dessert called "homemade pudding." Excitedly, he got his hands on a cookbook and began preparing. However, Takeru had very little cooking experience, and his first challenge filled him with anxiety.
Takeru faithfully followed the recipe, mixing together eggs, milk, and sugar. With each stir, he felt his confidence wavering little by little. Yet, he believed, "Everyone fails at first." This proverb resonated within him, giving him the courage to challenge himself without fear of failure.
As he waited for the pudding to bake in the oven, he lost himself in various daydreams. Imagining his friends surprised and praising him, he finally took the baked pudding out of the oven. But what appeared before him looked like a hard lump. Flustered, Takeru thought about what had gone wrong, but in the end, he could not figure it out.
When his friends gathered, Takeru nervously presented his pudding. Although his friends had expressions of shock, they took a bite with smiles full of friendship. Their reactions were unexpected. They struggled through the hardness while bursting into laughter. Takeru laughed, teary-eyed, and finally understood. Failure is a step towards success, and the true joy of cooking lies in having fun. Thus, he gained the courage to embark on his next challenge.
