Summary

A Parent's Heart is Unknown to a Child

In a certain village, there lived a mischievous boy named Taro. His mother, Hana, raised him with all her heart and showered him with love. However, Taro was oblivious to this love and was so absorbed in playing with his friends every day that he did not understand his mother's struggles at all.

One day, Hana decided to make Taro's favorite caramel. She spent the whole day preparing sweet and fragrant caramel using a special recipe. However, as soon as Taro returned home from school that afternoon, he rushed off to a friend's house and was completely unaware of his mother's efforts. Hana prepared dinner with a feeling of loneliness, but Taro was already full and did not come home.

The next day, the village festival was approaching. Taro was excitedly helping his friends prepare for the festival. Hana called out to Taro, "Once the festival is over, let's make special caramel together," but Taro only replied, "Yeah, but I'm playing with my friends right now!" He prioritized having fun without understanding his mother's thoughtfulness.

However, on the night after the festival, Taro suddenly thought, "Mom said she made caramel, but she probably forgot." He hurried home, only to find an empty pot and burnt remnants of caramel left in the kitchen. At that moment, Taro understood his mother's heart. "Oh, Mom was working hard for me," he reflected, and from the next day onward, he began to help Hana. In this way, Taro gradually became aware of his mother's feelings, and their bond deepened.
