The Tale of Ichiyō Raifuku

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a goddess known as the "Goddess of Winter." This goddess would bring harsh winters to the villagers, but at the same time, she was also a mysterious being who delivered the breath of spring. The villagers both feared the Goddess of Winter and were grateful for her blessings. However, one winter, the goddess did not bring spring, and the village fell into a long period of frozen despair.

The villagers believed that winter would eventually pass, but gradually lost hope. One day, a young man made a resolution: "I will meet the goddess and bring back spring." He left the village and headed toward the ice palace where the goddess resided. Along the way, despite the biting cold, he never gave up. The spirits he met on his journey were moved by his courage and promised to help him.

Finally, the young man reached the ice palace and sincerely expressed his feelings to the Goddess of Winter. "We are longing for spring. Please, save our village." The goddess was momentarily taken aback, but upon seeing the light of hope in his eyes, her heart was stirred. She said, "I too have been burdened by a long loneliness, just like you," and added, "I will return the light of spring to you."

At that moment, the frozen ground began to thaw, and warm sunlight poured into the sky. Spring arrived in the village, and the villagers' smiles returned. "Ichiyō Raifuku" signifies the new hope that has been brought to them. The young man realized that his courage and conviction had changed the fate of the village, and he offered his gratitude to the Goddess of Winter. The coming seasons would symbolize the joy that lies beyond the cold and a new beginning.
