Summary

Rice and the Heavenly Way

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a young man named Taro. Taro worked hard for his family, but the fields were always barren, and there was hardly anything to eat. Nevertheless, he believed that "rice and the Heavenly Way are always with you, no matter where you go," and he resolved to give his best every day.

One day, Taro accidentally got lost in a forest near the village. As evening fell and his stomach growled, he decided to eat the grass growing in the thicket. To his surprise, the grass was sweet and had a nostalgic taste. In that moment, he heard a mysterious voice say, "That is my special grass. There is always food nearby for you." Taro followed that voice and continued to eat the grass.

The next day, astonishingly, large rice seedlings had sprouted in Taro's fields. The villagers were shocked at the sight. "How did such magnificent rice grow?" they all asked. Taro spoke about the grass in the forest, but the villagers did not believe him. However, taking advantage of Taro’s good fortune, the village began to eat the rice and prosper.

Eventually, Taro spread the teachings of "rice and the Heavenly Way" throughout the village, and the villagers came to understand the importance of obtaining food through their own efforts. Taro felt that having food also enriched the heart, and the village became a happy place once again. The Heavenly Way was always by his side, teaching him the importance of maintaining hope, even in the toughest times.
