Summary
The Secret of the Mysterious Village
In a certain village, there was an old, dilapidated house that had been uninhabited for a long time. Rumors about the house were constant, especially the saying, “Don’t talk about ropes in the house where someone hanged themselves,” which was often repeated among the villagers. The villagers avoided the house and didn’t even go near it, but a curious boy named Takeshi remained intrigued.
One day, Takeshi decided to explore the house with his friends. Although his friends were terrified, they accompanied Takeshi and gradually approached the house. When they opened the door, dust swirled, and the only sound was the wind blowing through. Takeshi whispered, “Don’t talk about ropes!” while secretly laughing at his friends’ fearful expressions.
Inside the house, there were old pieces of furniture and a few scattered dishes. Summoning his courage, Takeshi finally brought up the subject of ropes. “If this house really was the place of a hanging suicide, wouldn’t something interesting happen?” he said, and at that moment, suddenly a window swung wide open and the wind rushed in. Takeshi, surprised, exclaimed, “Just as I thought, something did happen!”
Then, a shadow emerged, and a ghost holding a rope appeared. However, instead of frightening Takeshi and his friends, the ghost half-jokingly pleaded, “Wait a minute, please stop talking about ropes!” Just as the villagers had rumored, it really wanted to avoid the topic of ropes. Takeshi and his friends couldn’t help but laugh and decided to become a part of the mysterious story that the village carried on.
