If I can marry a man I love, I wouldn't mind any kind of poverty.

Summary

An Unhappy Marriage

In a village lived a beautiful but somewhat unfortunate woman named Sakura. She was in love with a wealthy young man, Taro, but Taro was already destined to marry the richest girl in the village, Hanako. When Sakura heard Hanako say, "Even if I lower my pot, I will marry Taro!" she felt a deep sense of contradiction in her heart. This was because her life was truly impoverished, and she couldn't let go of her pot.

One evening, Sakura saw Hanako and Taro preparing for a splendid wedding in the village square. To escape her feelings of frustration, she decided to get drunk with her pot in hand. At that moment, she caught sight of her intoxicated self. "For love, I can gamble everything in my life," she told herself as she continued to drink.

A few days later, when Sakura woke up, she found herself unexpectedly sleeping under a tree. Her pot was safe, but something unexpected had happened. Suddenly, she was surrounded by the villagers, and rumors were spreading that she was "looking for a partner." The image of the poor Sakura, raising her pot and shouting, "Taro, choose me!" became legendary throughout the village and quickly became a source of laughter.

In the end, Taro and Hanako got married, and Sakura grew increasingly lonely, but her pot gained fame as an icon of the village. "Love and money don't matter. Even if I lower my pot, I still have my pot!" the villagers laughed and teased her. However, in her heart, Sakura continued to believe, "The pot is my true companion," and she still carries it with her to this day.
