Summary
The Village of Happiness and the Village of Tears
Once upon a time, there were two villages. One was called the "Village of Happiness," and the other was called the "Village of Tears." The residents of the Village of Happiness spent their days laughing together joyfully and sharing in their happiness. They spoke of dreams to their children and looked towards the future with hope.
On the other hand, the residents of the Village of Tears spent their days in lamentation. The village was filled with dissatisfaction and complaints, and it always felt as though someone was crying. They cursed their fate, believing that if they were to end their lives anyway, it was right to wallow in sorrow. In the center of the village stood a monument that read, "I am unhappy," where the residents gathered to share their misfortunes.
One day, the leader of the Village of Happiness visited the Village of Tears. He asked the residents, "Why are you so sad?" A resident of the Village of Tears replied, "Life is full of hardships, and even if we laugh, nothing will change." The leader smiled kindly and said, "Living in tears is one life, and living in laughter is also one life. So, if that's the case, let's choose to live happily." The residents did not pay much attention to his words, but his message quietly resonated within the village.
Several years later, change came to the Village of Tears. The younger generation began to remember the leader's words and gradually started to rediscover their smiles. They decided to accept their fate and to find joy and hope. Interaction with the Village of Happiness began, and instances of laughter became more frequent. The monument in the center of the village that once read "I am unhappy" was quietly rewritten to say, "We are happy." In this way, the villagers learned through experience that living in laughter was far better than living in tears.
