The Clumsy Genius
Once upon a time, there was a young man named Takeshi, who possessed an extraordinary talent for mathematics. He excelled in calculations and even won a gold medal at the Math Olympiad. However, he had a significant flaw: he was unable to build any relationships with others and found it difficult to talk to anyone.
Takeshi always told himself, "Numbers are my only friends," and spent all his time on mathematics. While his genius calculating ability was praised by those around him, he did not have a single person he could call a friend. One day, he became overly confident in his strengths. As a result, he decided to present a theory that utilized his mathematical knowledge but was incomprehensible to anyone.
At first glance, the theory was astonishing, and praises were voiced; however, in reality, it was completely nonsensical. Because Takeshi relied too much on his talent, he could not imagine that people would criticize his theory. Consequently, his presentation was a complete failure, and for a time, his name spread as "the laughing stock of the math world." Ironically, his strengths became highlighted as weaknesses.
In his dismay, Takeshi realized that the talent he believed to be genius was actually linked to self-centered arrogance. This prompted him to begin learning to communicate with others little by little. He came to understand that "even a genius in mathematics is meaningless without relationships with others," and he started to pay attention not only to numbers but also to people's hearts. Through this experience, he learned valuable lessons about building relationships: sometimes strengths can lead to weaknesses, and the reverse is also true.
